Tortosa - Illa dels Bous

The Tortosa – Bous Island canoe route is an original and authentic experience that can only be found on this small island in Tortosa, located in the heart of the Lower Ebro.

A short yet intense stage that combines views of the most emblematic monuments of the two-thousand-year-old Tortosa with an island that, because of its inhabitants—the bulls—is unique along the entire course of the river.

Bous Island is small and beautiful, covered with giant trees nourished by the river that gives them strength. It is full of green and humid meadows, with paths and trails where black, wild “devils” roam freely—elusive and wary of human danger: the bulls.

A virgin island and brave animals enclosed in a beautiful cage, with bars of fresh water and winged guardians in a small, fragile and vulnerable world, in a prison called Freedom.

Authentic emotions are remembered for a lifetime, and visiting this island and watching the bulls run is one of them.
